Image Attachments

Wonder if an admin could have a look into why attached images don't load properly.

Examples:

Re: Image Attachments

they load ok for me on firefox.

when you click those links they don't load?

actually, there are a few admins now, and we do battle behind the scenes to keep the forum spam-free.  but the only one with real keys to get into the forum engine is neko.

maybe if we can get more clarification here why this is happening to some people and not to others, we can figure out what's going on.

Re: Image Attachments

(On Chrome) When I click the link I can see the picture load. As soon as it's finished it disappears and a broken image link icon shows.

Trying to download it doesn't work either, it says it's interrupted?

Hope that helps.

Re: Image Attachments

I think this is a Chrome issue. It seems to work fine on Firefox and Safari.

Re: Image Attachments

Ah, I should have checked if it was browser-specific first. My bad.

Re: Image Attachments

I confirm. Here, on Chrome, Win7 x64, I can't get any attachment to download, and pictures display the behavior described above. Will try it from Chromium/Linux later.

Re: Image Attachments

It might just be me, but I find that it seems a little faster than the others. Well, last time I checked, anyway. And I personally just like how sleek the interface is. It takes up less space, so there's more web page on display. I want to say I read somewhere that it's more secure in some ways because it does things like use its own .pdf viewer instead of requiring an Adobe add-on. But I don't really know much about that stuff.

Re: Image Attachments

I switched from Firefox about a year ago because FF was very buggy at the time - crashing, slowing the machine to a crawl etc. I was literally reborn. Don't know how they compare ATM.

Re: Image Attachments

Sometimes I also get errors like this from chrome. So go to fire fox or safari or ie and see.
