pdp_ieee1394 on linux ubuntu (karmic)
Hi all,
I'm having a problem trying to use my dv camera via firewire on pd-extended.
I can capture the dv firewire using kino very well.
However it is not working with pdp_ieee1394.
No error messages...it just doesn't work.
Please, do you have any suggestion?

I assume you are on OSX, since you said "firewire" rather than ieee1394. Although, it is perhaps only the Linux geeks whou would call it that. Anyway; when you instantiate the pix_video object, what is the output on the Pd debug window?

sorry, i mean ieee1394, and I am using linux ubuntu karmic koala.
I was trying to use pdp_xv to see the video and I had none error messages on the PD
debug win...the window just do not open.
pix_video is a gem object, right? i was using the pdp_ieee1394...
please, am I missing something?

It works perfectly if I run puredata as superuser...the same thing i am doing for kino...alternativelly
we need to change permissions to access the raw1394 driver...
The point now is that the response time isn't so nice...if i move the camera quicly, the image
gets distorced for some seconds...any suggestion, please?
