Realtime Text-Input for Output in GEM

Hey there.
I want to to patch me a "typewriter" for writing individual texts while my PD Video Mixer is running. I want to be able to create individual messages for outputting it with GEM 3dtext. What could be a good approach.
Thx in advance.

Re: Realtime Text-Input for Output in GEM

the usual would be to send it via a symbol guiobject. you can type into them and then send it by pressing enter.

another approach i can think of, yet haven't tried, is to have a txt file in a editor open, type and save, whilst pd constantly loads or so to say opens the file.

there is this mysterious [textfield] objetc as well, which creates a textfield... obvious. but i can't use this properly. on win, there are no properties and it's quite static.
