my live patch

this is the patch i have been playing live with for the last 2 years or so.

hopefully it will work for anyone with pd-extended.  i have a feeling that some bits woN't work on windows though.

i have included a bunch of samples, but you can delete them and add your own if u want.

Re: my live patch

Looks like I'm going to need extended.

So judging by the content of the instruction page, it uses a lot of the same features in one of your previous patches I've seen (the one on your webpage that uses two channels and stutters)

Seeing as you use keystrokes for everything, you might be interested in this.
http://www.commarts.uws.edu.au/arts/ea1 … price.html

This is something i built for a uni project last semester, it just lets me use that toy guitar to trigger stuff in pd(or miraton when i did the project) using keystrokes.

Anyone have a link to a pd extended download?

Just got extended(on my sexy new imac)
Hardoff man, your patches are always so much fun to play with.
Pure genius.

Maybe one day I'll come up with an awesome system like that.
Also, come play a gig in Sydney, so I can see this go off live.

Incredible piece of work Hardoff, and big-hearted sharing.

Thanks!

I'm going to hope to be able to build up an appropriate bank of new sounds so as to standby as a back-up performer with this for CeC & CaC next year. See; http://www.theaea.org/cec_cac/ceccac08/

Performed last year with a hotch-potch of Pd patches, Reason, and MidiVid, in the amateur slot, primarily so as to discover and demonstrate whether a motivated individual here in India could make himself a simple controller and then slap together some software so as to do such a thing.

No amateur slot this time~:o)

You guys must look to jump aboard sometime into the future.

Keep well ~ Shankar

Re: my live patch

Well, we'd just love to have you!!

And, wouldn't that just wake up ye olde India International Centre too~:o)

As things stand, we are actually full up on almost all counts with regard to CeC & CaC 2008.

H_o_w_e_v_e_r, I strongly suspect that one of the scheduled performers will probably have to cancel his participation sometime soon.

And, if you want the slot, I will then immediately come back to you with it.

The only UNmusical note is that we can't pay you a penny. At best, we *might* be able to get you a discounted room in the IIC guesthouse, where most of the incoming participants are already booked in,... and that too, only if you can confirm your participation quick enough.

But, we do work very hard to make it worth everyone's while to pile in, and I think that it's an indicator of our success in this regard that good folks love to come back for this most peculiar madness that we've got going. In fact, our palsied 22min. "internal" videofilm of the blast (edit: in Feb-2007) was actually telecast nationally across India this summer, and then, it all somehow also got listed by 'Time Out Delhi' amongst the 'best' 15 art/cultural festivals due up in Delhi over the coming "season" (LOL~:o)!!

So, the whole situation is marvellously almost out of our control by now, and it would be great to have you help crank that all up.

My regular email address is shankarbaba[at]vsnl.net

And, what country do you belong to? ~ just in case I am already in touch with your embassy here, or some other such possibly useful thing.

Keep well ~ Shankar

Re: my live patch

Truly awesome patch. I have been messing around with it and am in absolute awe. I want to try and find a way to create a set list for this patch so in addition to having a random mode, I could create a set list and have the files come up in a specific order. I have worked with max patches that do this, but am new to pd. Have you ever tried anythign like that?

Re: my live patch

to set up a set list,

...the arrays storing the sound files are all numbered, so you could use those numbers to order the loops.

or else, maybe have a look at this object:   [msgfile]

or this one:  [playlist]

yes, i did try to make everything nice and organized at one point.  with different folders for bass and drums and whatnot...but the chaotic stuff kept winning me over,,,

Re: my live patch

That's chaos that makes sense~:o)

However, how come you didn't build in a sampler, so as to record new files into the collection on the fly?

Re: my live patch

thanks for the suggestions. What I ended up doing was just adding a couple of keys that advance to the next array or the previous array. Since the arrays load the files alphabetically from the audioloops folder, I just numbered the files in the set order.

So now I use my folder window as a view of the set list, i have keys to advance through the files in order, and the last mod I made was to create a viewer that shows which array (file) is playing that I can scroll through to jump to a specific file. I'm goign to add some volume controls and perhaps another track or two.

This thing is loads of fun to play with......
